Discovering Interests

I’m sure you’ve heard the saying, “I started dancing/singing/etc before I could walk/talk/etc.”

I’ve always heard people say these things or talk about interests/hobbies of theirs which they were able to learn quickly whereas I kept going from one thing to another, and either finding I wasn’t good at it, or I didn’t enjoy it. There were a few exceptions I love riding horses reading but considering the amount of things I have tried (piano, pottery, swimming, track, drama, and more), this is a very small amount. Honestly, it wasn’t until I was in my early 20’s that I started to figure out the things that I liked doing (writing, photography, reading) without caring whether I was good at it or not, because it made me happy and that was enough.

We are all different and unique therefore it makes sense that we would all find our hobbies in different ways as well. It doesn’t matter whether you are good at something or not. As long as you enjoy yourself, it is worth it.

P.S. I would love to hear about your hobbies. How did you discover them?
